The United Nations developed Sustainable Development Goal 2, also referred to as “Zero Hunger,” as a global commitment to end hunger, enhance food security, and advance sustainable agriculture by 2030. This objective acknowledges that everyone has the inherent right to sufficient and nourishing food, regardless of their financial situation or place of residence. Countries and communities must collaborate to address the underlying causes of hunger, such as poverty, inequality, and climate change, and improve effective food production and distribution systems to meet this objective.
