Treevolution Program is a concerted effort to promote environmental sustainability and an initiative aimed at boosting greenery and food production. The Green Hearts Students’ Association of the Faculty of Agriculture of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of Rajarata University and the local community, conducted the Treevolution Program in the village of Kammalakkulama village, Mihinthale on the 23rd of October, 2023 at 9.00A.M. The event was graced by the presence of the distinguished Chief Guest, Professor (Mrs) G.A.S. Ginigaddara, Vice Chancellor of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, and Mr. Anurudda Nayakabandara, the Divisional Secretary of Mihinthale, Dr. Chinthaka Karalliyadda, Head of the Department of Agricultural Systems and academic members of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University. The Treevolution Program in Kammalakkulama village serves as an exemplary model of how educational institutions and local communities can come together to create a positive and lasting impact.

The Treevolution Program, which includes efforts to boost greenery and food production, contributes to the goal of zero hunger by promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

The initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability, boost greenery, and plant trees, aligning with the goal of life on land by fostering biodiversity and combating land degradation.

The collaboration between the university, the Rotaract Club, and the local community exemplifies a partnership for sustainable development, demonstrating how educational institutions and local communities can work together to achieve positive and lasting impacts.
