Sustainable Development Goal 9, “Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure,” emphasizes building resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and fostering innovation. Investing in infrastructure development, particularly in the areas of energy, transportation, and information and communication technology, is encouraged by this goal, which helps many nations close the infrastructure gap. Along with supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and fostering innovation, the goal also seeks to promote sustainable industrialization to maximize economic growth and minimize environmental impact. It aims to ensure that everyone may benefit from industrialization and innovation without having a detrimental effect on the environment by highlighting these qualities and offering more equitable and sustainable opportunities for people and society.
