The sixth Sustainable Development Goal, “Clean Water and Sanitation,” embodies an essential international commitment to achieving equal and universal access to inexpensive, safe drinking water and adequate sanitary facilities for all. A fundamental human right, access to clean water, is essential to the health and welfare of the general populace. The primary issues of water scarcity, poor sanitation, and water pollution that impact billions of people globally are addressed by SDG 6. Lowering pollution, stopping dumping, decreasing the release of dangerous substances, cutting the amount of untreated wastewater in half, and significantly improving recycling and safe practices guarantees improved water quality.
