“Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all” is the aim of Sustainable Development Goal 7. The primary goal is to ensure everyone has access to modern, affordable, and reliable energy services. Other objectives include raising the proportion of renewable energy in the world’s energy mix and doubling the rate at which energy efficiency is improving globally. Strengthening international cooperation to make clean energy research and technology accessible, including advanced and cleaner fossil fuel technology, energy efficiency, and renewable energy; encouraging investment in clean energy infrastructure and clean energy technology; and expanding infrastructure and upgrading technology to provide modern, sustainable energy services for everyone in developing countries, especially least developed countries, small island developing countries, and landlocked developing nations, following their respective programs.
