Ending poverty in all its forms by 2030 is the first of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. This objective includes several targets, such as halving the percentage of people of all ages living in poverty by half by 2030 according to national standards and eliminating severe poverty worldwide, defined as persons making less than $1.25 per day. Programs and policies must be implemented to eradicate poverty in all forms. They are establishing strong policy frameworks to enable increased investment in initiatives to eradicate poverty at the national, regional, and global levels. These frameworks should be based on development policies that are gender-sensitive and pro-poor.
